Vice President Al Gore’s Hammer Award, 1997, given to ISPE and FDA for advancing the Vice President’s National Performance Review (NPR) goals of cutting red tape, improving service to customers and helping build a better and more cost effective government.

The award was based on the work conducted in the development, completion and implementation of the “similar equipment” list which was required for CDER’s Scale-Up and Post Approval Change (SUPAC) initiative for immediate release solid oral dosage forms.
